Iran expresses grief on Pakistan train accident 

Islamabad, June 8, IRNA -- The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan has expressed grief over the tragic train accident in Pakistan’s southern Sindh Province that claimed 60 lives.

Mohammad Ali Hosseini in a tweet on Tuesday presented deep sense of sorrow over loss of precious lives in the tragic accident of the collision of two trains in Dharki.

Offering condolences over the tragedy, he prayed to God for forgiveness of the dead, good health for the wounded and patience for the survivors.

At least 60 passengers died and over 100 others injured in a collision between two trains near Ghotki on Monday.

According to Railways officials, Sir Syed Express collided with the Millat Express between Raiti and Obaro Railway stations and fourteen bogies derailed.

Police sources say four bogies of Millat Express were completely destroyed in the accident.

Relief and rescue efforts are in progress by Pakistan Army at the train incident site near Ghotki.
